Former Brazil captain Cafu is confident that national team will perform better in upcoming 2022 world cup to be played in Qatar. Selecao’s two-time world cup winner is optimistic about team chances to bring world cup trophy once again at home after 20 years.
Cafu hopes that Neymar would do wonder for Brazil and 2022 will be the year when team will lift trophy for the sixth time.
“I think so. I’m very optimistic when it comes to the Selecao. I’m certain that Brazil will have a great World Cup. We have Neymar, a lot of other good, experienced players and a number of talented youngsters coming through,” Cafu said in an interview to FIFA.com.
He was asked how did you feel when lift 2002 world cup? He quickly answer ‘it’s sensational’.
“Sensational. What a moment! It felt amazing to have fulfilled our mission. The feeling of knowing the whole world was watching me lift the Trophy was indescribable. Being a world champion is out of the ordinary,” he added.
Brazilian legend was asked to choose one from modern day greats between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo and he was really in confusion to pick one of them as he quoted both players as the two powers of world football.
“We’re talking about the two powers of world football. They’ve been at the top for 15 years. One has won six awards, the other five. It’s so hard to pick between them. They’re both magnificent players,” Cafu said.
Cafu is the brand ambassador at Qatar 2022 world cup and he might choose being coach.
